Benefits Counseling

Benefits Counseling is not a free service, however we can help answer some of your questions you may have.

Are you on SSI or SSDI and worried about losing your benefits if you go to work?  Do you have questions about Medicare?  Medicaid?  Do you know about Social Security's Employment Supports such as Trial Work Period, Impairment Related Work Expenses, and PASS?  If you are thinking of going to work, these and other work incentives can help you.

Benefits Counseling is designed to allow consumers to make realistic and knowledgeable choices regarding the benefits they receive and the impact on those benefits as they pursue their goal of employment.  The consumer will gain a clear picture of the effect employment will have on their benefits, such as Social Security, SSI, Medicaid, food stamps and housing assistance.  In addition, the Benefits Counselor can assist individuals in utilizing Social Security Work Incentives such as PASS Plans and IREWEs.  As part of the Fee For Service plan, a written summary of findings will be provided upon completion.

To find out more, contact the Benefits Specialist at NCIL at 715-392-9118 v/tty or 1-800-924-1220 v/tty, or by email at E-Mail Iconncilscott@superior-nfp.org.
