Disability Advocacy, Resource and INclusion Groups

Disability Advocacy, Resource and INclusion Group members across northwestern Wisconsin welcome all people with any disability to join our efforts to share resources and stories of success, support each other, build community and work together to overcome barriers to the life we want to live. We meet in communities across the region.

We educate people and agencies toward the goal of eliminating all barriers to independent living, transportation, education, employment, health care, accessibility and full community inclusion.

From members:

I'd like to think that this group is all about DARING:

- as parents of a member of the disabled community, we are daring enough to Advocate prominently for our children.

- as ourselves members of the disabled community, we are daring enough to live life beyond the stereotypical descriptions ascribed to each of our individual conditions, taking advantage of and willing to share Resources available to us.

- as a group, we are DARING enough to challenge our local community to INclude us openly.

Call Martha at North Country Independent Living at 800-499-5676 (V/TTY), Extension #3 for more info.

The DARING e-network is an opportunity to receive email notices about community presentations, trainings, shared stories of success, action alerts, policy statements and other articles of interest to many in the disability community. We welcome information and alerts from you and share the information back out to the network. Consider being part of this interactive, vital communication link to others in our region.
